Our Basic Philosophy of Action

Jeevan Sahara Kendra believes that HIV/AIDS is one of the most pressing challenges to God's people today. How the Church responds to the needs of people with HIV will not only determine how the disease progresses in our country - but will also affect how the church itself develops.

We are convinced that HIV care - done in a compassionate, Godly and rational way, can make real impacts on people with HIV and their families. Most the needs faced by people with HIV/AIDS can be provided in the privacy of their own homes. And though each family faces a seemingly unending set of needs once they find out their member has HIV - we believe that God has prepared his people with sufficient talent, resources and love to see that these are met to the praise of His glory. That this is not happening in a comprehensive manner yet is something that we must fervently pray will change - and pray that our prayers will bear immediate fruit. The challenge is to mobilise effective responses that reach out to families through local care.

Jeevan Sahara's vision is that people with HIV/AIDS in Thane will receive hope, healing and eternal life, and that the local church will become known as the place where people with HIV/AIDS will be cared for.
